Time Saving Tips for the Morning Routine
** Collaborative Post
If you’re a parent, you’ll know that the mornings before the school run can be hard work, particularly if you tend to hit the snooze button a few too many times. It can often feel like a losing battle trying to get yourself and your kids out of the door on time, with all of the right items of clothing on and bags properly packed. Believe it or not, a smooth sailing morning does exist; you just might have to make a few minor changes here and there. Here are some tips from an independent school in Hertfordshire.
The most important thing you can do is plan ahead. If you get everything ready before bed the night before, then all you’ll have to do in the morning is get everyone dressed. Packed lunches should be made, school bags should be packed, letters should be signed. If you’re feeling super organised, you could even layout the uniform. You could buy or create your own checklist so that you can tick everything off before you go to bed, which might even help you get a better night’s sleep. What’s more, there shouldn’t be too much last-minute rushing in the morning.
You should always get yourself up, fed and dressed before your children wake up in the mornings so that you’re not trying to do too many tasks at the same time. For instance, you’ll have a hard time doing your mascara if your kids are fighting in the next room.
It’s important to be consistent with your morning routine so that your children are aware of exactly what they need to do and when they need to do it. Once they get used to the routine, it will just become second nature to them and things will run much more smoothly. The same rule also applies when it comes to the evening routine.
