I’m A Celeb: Dream Contestants – Past and Future!
Every year there is a huge buzz around which new I’m A Celeb contestants will be entering into the jungle. The show began back in 2002, and throughout its journey to 2019 has involved a great selection of celebrities. In case you don’t already know the show, it revolves around a random group of celebs, having to live together in a jungle environment for several weeks. Over the course of the programmes, they partake in several crazy, often grisly challenges, competing amongst themselves to be crowned king or queen of the jungle. There have been some celebs we’ve loathed, but plenty we’ve loved… and there are, of course, a few celebs out there who we would all really want to see on the programme. If you can’t get enough and want more ways to get involved with the show, some bingo sites have made I’m a celeb play along bingo cards to play with your friends and family that might satisfy your I’m a celeb craving.
Previous dream contestants…
Many I’m A Celeb fans more than enjoyed having singer-songwriter, Peter Andre, on their television screens back in the 2004 series of the show. Andre is most famous for his cheesy 90s pop songs prior to his appearance on the show, which largely reignited his career and popularity due to his flirtation with model Kate Price, and their subsequent marriage and divorce. During his time in the jungle, Andre also penned his song Insania and performed it to his fellow contestants.
Stacy Soloman, who rose to fame on X factor back in 2009, is one of the most loveable and down to earth, British celebs out there. She was a favourite to win from the start and beat Happy Mondays star Shaun Ryder to the jungle crown.
Dreamy McFly star Dougie Poynter won I’m a celeb back in 2011. Prior to the series, Poynter had had a challenging year and was struggling with depression. However, in the jungle, he appeared to be a new man which brought many viewers a lot of joy to see. Some of the McFly star’s best moments on the show included him dressing up in actress/presenter Jessica Jane Clement’s bikini, and his adorable bromance with TOWIE star Mark Wright.
Georgia Toffolo, charmingly nicknamed “Toff”, was much loved throughout the 2017 series of I’m A Celeb and was successfully crowned Queen of the Jungle. She first came to fame on Channel 4’s Made In Chelsea, but the posh princess didn’t have too much trouble eating plates of bugs, facing snakes and even drinking a “crocodile bum milkshake”.
Although she pulled out of the show after just three days for personal reasons, Gemma Collins’ short appearance on the 2014 series of I’m A Celeb was enjoyed by many, due to her humorous yet charming character. Gemma first came to fame on the ITVBe reality series The Only Way Is Essex, but since then has featured on many other TV programmes, such as This Morning, Loose Women, Dancing On Ice and just this year began her own BBC podcast. Many fans were disappointed with her shortened appearance on the show and are pushing for her to return to the show again in the future.
Who would be ideal:
Perhaps the most popular on the list of celebs that fans would love to see on the show is Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi, famous not only for his great voice and musical talent but also for his hilarious personality. Capaldi’s social media has been a huge hit with fans, especially his Instagram, where he is constantly mocking himself and knocking out the best jokes.
Like former I’m A Celeb contestant, Katie Hopkins, TV personality Piers Morgan is quite the controversial character. Many would love to see him having to chomp down fisheyes or kangaroo testicles, and he would, without a doubt, cause at least a few juicy disagreements amongst the group.
Perri Kiely is the youngest member of dance troupe Diversity, who won the third series of Britain’s Got Talent back in 2009. Since then, he has featured on numerous popular reality TV shows, such as E4’s Celebs Go Dating, and The Great Stand Up To Cancer Bake Off. Kiely is super loveable, easy-going, and would make a great I’m A Celeb contestant.
Caitlyn Jenner has now been confirmed as an official contestant for the 2019 series of the show, and although it would be pretty unlikely to happen, many also think that getting Kim Kardashian on board would make for an especially juicy and exciting season. Kim is well known for her over the top, dramatic behaviour, a particularly memorable example being when she lost her diamond earring to the ocean in Bora Bora.
British comedian, actor and presenter Jack Whitehall has been heavily encouraged by fans to enter the jungle. So much so, that there is even a current Change.org petition running in an attempt to try to get him on the show! Whitehall is best known for his stand-up comedy and his appearances in TV shows such as Fresh Meat, Bad Education, and his own Netflix series: Jack ‘Whitehall: Travels with My Father’. Whitehall is hilarious and would be a completely brilliant contestant on the show.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! always features a great selection of celebs, and the list of the very best could easily be added to. The official list of celebs entering the jungle for this year’s series has now been released, and even if Kim K doesn’t get on board, we can’t wait to watch the chaos unravel.
