#Blogtober2018 Day 3 : Couples #NationalBoyfriendDay

This is a new day for me, I’ve never come across National Boyfriend Day… Nor National Girlfriends Day which was on the 1st August!

To all you Boyfriends out there, Happy Boyfriends’ Day!

Its been a long time since I had a Boyfriend, my Boyfriend happens to now be my long-suffering Husband of 10 years, Sam! I suppose now I should tell you about our time as Boyfriend and Girlfriend, it was short… ready?

About My Boyfriend…

I met Sam through a friend I found in an AOL Chatroom at the age of 13, myself and Kirsty would spend hours chatting away after school. Kirsty lived in Telford, Shropshire and I lived in Leyland, Lancashire. We never met up at that age. After a couple of years chatting frequently Kirsty told me she was coming to Blackpool on holiday with her parents, my parents worked in Lytham St. Anne’s and Thornton-Cleveleys so we arranged between all the parents and myself and Kirsty that they would come up to Thornton-Cleveleys on the Saturday of their holiday and we could all meet for the first time! We were then aged 16-17.

Shortly afterwards we arranged for me to go and visit Kirsty in Telford, knowing who everyone was it made meeting up a lot more comfortable. This was where I met Sam for the first time, in a pub not far her house. After various visits between Telford and Kirsty and her friends visiting Blackpool Sam and I finally hit it off. We’ve never looked back.

We began dating in the September of 2005 and were engaged by January 2006 – Sams 21st Birthday.

Because of the travelling distance between us, Sam and I would only spend weekends together and we were both at an age where we wanted to leave home so we decided to set about moving in together, I was to leave my home and job in Lancashire and move to Shropshire as Sam’s job had better prospects within his family business. So we coincided our moving in together with getting engaged.

So there you have it our 4 month relationship as Boyfriend and Girlfriend before becoming fiance’s.

Have a great day you Boyfriends, and remember you girlfriends, spoil them rotten, they deserve it!

What a lovely photo. I’m reading lots of stories today where couples have travelled to be together. I met my current husband because he was a neighbour. He didn’t have too far to be with me haha.

Oh you were so lucky! No being jammed on the M6 for hours at a time for you which sounds a lot better!

I remember AOL chatrooms well! I used to spend hours in chatrooms. I don’t think I’d enjoy spending my time in them now! I did meet my husband in an MSN parenting group, though. We’ve been married 13 years and together for 15 🙂
