#Blogtober18 Day 16 : Perfect Recipe For An Autumnal Night In

Its no secret that I do really really like Autumn, I like the cooler days, the autumnal walks through woodland and watching trees turn from green to orange as the leave prepare to fall. I love being able to wear my winter knit’s, wool lined boots but it still just being warm enough to wear my Gilet. I adore the darker evenings, promoting rest and relaxation with the family after a long day at work. Here is my perfect recipe for an autumnal night in;

Snuggle On The Sofa

At the weekend when the weather wasn’t so great the kids and I enjoyed Saturday and Sunday evenings squeezed onto our 2 seater sofa all together. We snuggled under the duvet from my bed and enjoyed evenings watching films or playing computer games. We found this to be extremely relaxing and a great way to spend some quality time all together.

Light A Fire

I love nothing more than getting cosy by a nice fire, I’ve always wanted a log fire but never wanted the mess it causes. Alas I now live in a property where I don’t even have a fire/let along fireplace. So I’m having to make do with sitting by a radiator.

Drink Hot Chocolate

This cooler weather, especially now as its cooled down a bit I just crave hot chocolate. More so does Leah, I’m pretty sure tonight after school we shall be coming home and she will be asking for her cup of warm chocolate milk. Perfect to reheat after a walk out in the cool air.

Wearing Knits

As I said before, I just LOVE my knitwear and i’m now fully embracing them. If you ask my husband he’d say I have too may knitted jumpers, but I just can’t stop buying them. I wish it was Autumn all year round so I could wear endless amounts of knit wears.

The arrival of Autumn always brings out my slow cooker, my husband loved nothing more than a Beef or Chicken Stew, filled with chunky veg with chopped tomatoes and Vegetable stock. We made one last week which tasted wonderful, and we look forward to making more over the coming weeks. I’ve found making the slow cooker on makes my home smell wonderful after a long day at work.

I am taking part in #Blogtober hosted by Big Family Organised Chaos. Why don’t you join in too?

    I love this time of year too. However being in the middle of the menopause woolly jumpers are a thing of the past for me! There are so many lovely ones around but I am so warm all of the time I resign myself to layering!

    I love this time of year too. It feels so cosy when the curtains are shut and the blankets are out x

    I love it too, lots of cosy staying on things without the bleakness of winter. Summer is my favourite though.

    I’m loving Autumn as well. I spent Saturday doing some cross stitch and watching old movies. I watched Brigadoon for the first time and loved it 🙂
