My Sunday Photo – Boating along the River Yare

Last week we were on Holiday, I actually snapped this photo last Sunday evening.

We were on holiday on the Norfolk Broads, spending a week of quality family time together, confined in a little river boat, playing games, adventuring and fishing (much to Lewis’s delight!), it was absolutely amazing!

I took lots of photos whilst we were on our adventures but for now I have this one to share with you (plus its the only one I’ve gotten round to editing so far!).

As i said, this was snapped last Sunday evening as we were heading back out of Norwich City Centre along the River Yare. The weather was a bit of a mix bag, one minute is was warm and sunny, next minute is was cool and drizzly but i was pleased with this stunning sun rays over in the distance. The boat you can see was our home for the week, a blog post about this boat will be coming in due course as it was a fantastic “home-from-home” that I want to tell you more about it.

I’m taking part in a weekly linky over at Photalife, showcasing our best photo’s of the week.

Beautiful photo! It brings back memories of our holidays in Norfolk almost 20 years ago, when we were newly married. Some of the best days of my life, with the Broads, boating, the almost empty beach.

I do think that mixed weather makes for a more interesting sky, and I love any photo with water in it. I can see the sun’s rays through the clouds and the water looks so calm and serene. I hope you had a lovely trip.

Hi Bex, what a lovely way to spend a holiday. A boating holiday is something I would love to do in the UK. There is something very calming about looking at the sky whilst near water and I can imagine the calmness you felt chugging along looking at that sky.

The calmness of the whole week was amazing, when we got in the car to drive home we found ourselves overwhelmed with other road users. it was just too busy for us! I need my boat back!

What a stunning sky. I’ve always wanted to go on a boating holiday – although I’d be worried about Freya jumping in as she loves the water 🙂 #mysundayphoto

Such a moody sky. Glad you had a wonderful trip – I do fancy doing something like that on a boat.

You wrote Yare River and I read Yara River, which is in Melbourne in Australia! I was confused for a few seconds! Anyway, lovely images and I’m drawn to that moody looking sky. #mysundayphoto
