Logitech M330 Silent Plus Mouse : Review
I got my new PC for Christmas last year and I absolutely love it, the speed of the PC itself is phenomenal, it works perfectly and the graphics are spot on for my photo editing. I spend a lot of time at my PC, I blog whilst the kids are at school, Lewis does him homework on it, we both play PC games on it and also I do a lot photo editing on it. For all this to happen my PC needs to be reliable and for my hardware to work correctly at all times.
Where my PC tower stands and where my monitor sits are about 40/50cm apart but given that cables need to curve around my desk means that the cables need to be about 1m long. This gets rather difficult for my mouse and keyboard to reach properly but I have made a good working area which has been working well for now.
For my next review I have been contacted by the team over at Logitech and they have offered me a cordless mouse to review but its not just any cordless mouse, its a silent cordless mouse.
The model of this mouse to be exact is the Logitech Silent Plus M330 Cordless Mouse and is available in 3 colours, black, red or blue. The package contains mouse, nano receiver (located under the battery hatch cover), 1 AA Battery (pre installed) and instructions.
Now I’m not going to pretend I am the most technically minded person in the world, because I’m not. But I know enough to know if a device like this would work on my PC and what it could offer, so here goes.
System requirements requires your PC to have an available USB slot to be used at all times and to be running an operating system such as, Windows 7, Windows RT, Windows 8 or Windows 10. Mac OS X 10.5 or later, Chrome OS or Linux Kernal 2.6+2.
This mouse offers a very impressive 10m distance range which has been handy some evenings when sitting and watching catch up TV from our dining table as the mouse has been able to come with me.
There you have it, PHEW!
The mouse is of a similar size to a standard PC mouse, measuring in at (height x width x depth): 105.4 mm x 67.9 mm x 38.4 mm and weighting a feather-light 91.0 g.
With the USB port plugged into a slot on your PC my Windows PC picked up the required drivers instantly, and within seconds the mouse responded ready for use and you can amend the mouse settings in the usual place within the control panel on Windows.
Given the name of this product being the Silent Plus, I think its only fair I talk about main feature – the mouse clicks are absolutely silent, no click click noise, nothing and has been tested to provide over 90% noise reduction. Also using this mouse feels so slick, there is no dragging sound of using the mouse on a desk, the buttons are smooth to press and also the wheel is not only responsive but with the ridges on wheel it is easy to control.
Powered by 1x AA Battery this mouse can offer up to 24 months of use between battery change (depending on usage) and in between uses there is an on/off switch under the mouse to help save battery life.
Overall I am incredibly happy with my new PC mouse, the red is a little bright for my liking but my son thinks this is brilliant. I am made up with the size, the performance, the ease of use and the lack of noise coming from the clicks of the buttons.
With an RRP of £29.99 I really do think this product is most ideal for anyone looking to purchase a new PC mouse.
