Conker Fighting – 16/10/2016
I am linking up this weeks Point + Shoot with YouBabyMeMummy and My Sunday Photo with Photalife.
ISO 3200, f/5.6, 1/200
Its only fair I continue with my Autumn theme in this weeks photo, last time you saw our humongous collection on conkers and this week you get to see what we do with them. Yes, you got it, conker fighting!!!
This year brought a huge change in how we play conkers as Lewis has now grasped how to throw the conker perfectly thus making himself a perfect competitor. We had a fantastic family evening, with the kids Nanny, Uncle and Great Aunt & Uncle.

As you can tell Leah needs to perfect her technique.
ISO 4500, f/5.6, 1/200
Photographing a conker fight in the dark was pretty difficult, getting the focus right proved the most trickiest as the lighting was really helped by being sat under a white gazebo where I could use the flash directed above me to even out the lighting for the photographs. This is the only photograph I got of a smashing conker, at you can tell the focusing and shutter speed were both out but I was still pleased to press the trigger at just the right moment.

18th October 2016 at 4:30 pmI love the second shot, that’s perfect, got the movement and no blur. The last one is great though, the boys taking it seriously!!! #pointshoot

20th October 2016 at 10:42 amThe boys really did take it seriously, many of arguments and claiming that people cheated. Such a fun evening.

16th October 2016 at 9:59 amI love the photos you’ve captured. My girls had never heard of this as they’re not allowed to play it at school
Thank you for linking up

20th October 2016 at 10:40 amMy kids aren’t allowed to play conkers at school which is a shame as I have really fond memories of my school days playing conkers in the yard. But it’s nice I get to enjoy this game with my children.

20th October 2016 at 10:39 amThank you Danny. It was a cracking capture, gutted I didn’t quite get the shutter speed right but its not easy with a flash gun.
