I’m Going To Blog On MSI Winter 2016
Next weekend I shall be attending Blog On MSI again for the 2nd time this year. Attending Blog On has somewhat become part of something I have to do, and I find myself automatically purchasing my ticket when they are released. Next weekend will be the 5th time I have attended a Blog On conference, the 5th time that will be held at Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester.
Only this morning I have organised my travel for next weekend, choosing to drive from Shropshire to Manchester and returning that evening. I am travelling with Emma from Mrs Shilts as we live fairly local to each other and we are both now looking forward to the day and also a good natter.
As part of attending Blog On MSI I have been prompted to share a little bit about myself, an Ice Breaker hosted by Zoe over at MamaGeek who is also delivering a couple sessions during the day. The Ice Breaker is to introduce myself by answering a couple of questions. I am looking forward to reading more about other bloggers attending and seeing you all next weekend.
So here goes;
1. Share a recent photo of you (or a doodle!)
Preferring to be the one behind the camera I don’t really get many photos of just myself. But recently I am finding myself snapping selfies so here you go, introducing;
2. Describe yourself in five words or less
Living Live To The Max!
3. How long have you been blogging, and why did you start?
I’ve been blogging now for 3 and a half years, attending my first Blog On conference only weeks later. At the time I started blogging I lived in Lancashire and attending a blog event only a couple of days later in Manchester, here I met lots of lovely bloggers who made me feel so welcome and I now class as really good friends. Tina from MotherGeek initially introduced me to blogging as I enjoyed reading her blog, so all in all I blame her for the creation of ClearlyBex ;-).
4. What are you hoping to get out of Blog On?
Brutally speaking I’m looking to re discover my mojo, recently I suffered a miscarriage and my mind really has lost track of reality since. I blog because I enjoy it but since the miscarriage I am really struggling with my mojo and getting my head around blogging, forming simple blog posts and taking my blog further. I need to come back to reality and talk all things blog for a day to revitalise myself. Not asking alot Blog On.
5. Name a few of your favourite blogs.
Apart from reading blogs from Mrs Shilts and MotherGeek (links earlier in this post) I also enjoy reading The Olivers Madhouse, TeenTweenToddler and Inside The Wendy House. I have a Bloglovin account which I follow a wide number of blogs so I am always lurking about reading blog posts which catch my eye.
6. What’s your favourite social media platform(s)… and what’s your username?
For sharing spoke words it has to be Twitter but I am also into Photography so can be found posting regularly over on Instagram.
7. Share a fact about you no-one would guess.
Unless you actually did a big of digging about in my social media and blog to find this out you would never know I am very keen of motor sports and I use to be a start-line marshal. My side of the family are a bunch of “petrol-heads”, in particular my Dad and his brothers. I began marshalling when I was 17, spending weekends stood at the race track and getting a good whiff of burning oils and rubber. All in all I spent 6 years marshalling until I married and had children, I covered small race meetings to the British Touring Cars and even the F1!
Here I am aged 18 ready to marshal my first F1 weekend.
8. What’s your favourite bit of tech?
That’s an easy one, my mobile phone. Only earlier this week I upgraded my phone and I now have a shiny iPhone 6S.
9. If you won the lottery, how would you spend your winnings?
Another easy one, I’d buy a house. I hate living in rented housing, I need a mortgage and a home to call mine. Something that I can give my children when I am old which gives them some life stability.
10. If you could host a talk show, who would be your first guest?
It’d have to be Lewis Hamilton, I want to know his whole life story and how his Dad encouraged his hobby to become to great career he has now.
11. Share a funny (or favourite) memory from your life.
Being completely soppy, a typical mother and wife but my favourite memories have to be marrying my husband, my sole-mate and bringing our lovely children into the world. I may have a problem with recurrent miscarriages but the pregnancies which have been successful I have been truly blessed with easy pregnancies and labours.
12. What is your favourite book (or film if you’re not a big reader) and why?
I have always lovely Harry Potter books, from my teenage years and most recently with the newest book The Cursed Child. I am enjoying my fill of re-reading the Harry Potter collection again whilst also watching the films with Lewis who is slowly picking up my addiction – Motherhood mission accomplished!!
13. What picture is on your phone/tablet lock screen?
Lock Screen Home Page
14. If you had an hour of time all to yourself, how would you spend it?
A true hour where I was kicked out of the house with no disturbances I’d probably find myself in Starbucks as I’d not know what else to do, either that or sleep in my car on the driveway haha.
15. What’s the best bit of advice you’ve ever been given?
A simple one “look to the future and don’t dwell on what happened in the past, look at what I have now and now what could have been”
See you all next weekend!
