Hotter Shoes Orla GTX Boots : Review

With winter shortly appearing around the corner my thoughts are slowly turning to my winter wardrobe, looking my best on the school run whilst also keeping dry and comfortable.

I love wearing boots in winter, I love padding out my feet so that my toes aren’t affected in the cold. I find boots also offer all round protection from the cold and rain.

To help my in my quest for style, warmth and comfort this winter Hotter has asked me to try out their new Orla GTX Boots.

For the making of these boots, Hotter have teamed up with GORE-TEX. Bringing you the signature lightweight and highly comfortable footwear that Hotter are famous for but also the waterproof and breathable protection of the GORE-TEX range.

First up i’d like to talk about the overall design, when browsing the range on the Hotter Webpage I was immediately drawn to these boots I love the suede “h/GORE-TEX” tab on the top rim of the boot. Being keen on walking and adventures with my kids I needed a boot which was also practical, offering ideal waterproof protection in bad weather but also the ability to clean up easily. The superior suede foot with textile neck really ticked all the boxes and it also looked appealing.

The sole of the Orla GTX Boot is made from Hotter’s signature Polyurethane material which I just love, as I find it so comfortable when you demand the most from your feet and shoes.

The inside leg of the boot includes full length zip allowing for ease of dressing and there is also a leather patch on the lining allowing for extra water protection against leaks within the boot.

I couldn’t wait to get out and about trying out my new boots, so the following weekend brought about a slight cooler day to our 20c+ temperatures we had been experiencing recently so I grabbed the opportunity to try out my boots at Powis Castle, Powys. We spent all day wandering the grounds, with a vast number of acres to explore I really did put these boots to the test.

With temperatures of about 16-18c for the day my feet were kept lovely and warm, but also well protected on our walks. My feet didn’t feel tired or uncomfortable at all during the day. I am really looking forward to temperatures dropping even more and my toes being kept warm on the frosty days.

The weather was dry for the day so I didn’t get to fully test the waterproof capabilities of the GORE-TEX protection but as we arrived before noon I took the opportunity to run across the dewy lawns and as you can see from the photo below the boots repelled the water wonderfully.

In the range of Orla GTX Boots there are 3 colours to choose from, Navy, Black and Maroon. I couldn’t help choose the Maroon boots as I adore the colour, I am now fully into the mood of choosing my winter wardrobe to match my wonderful new boots.

These Orla GTX Boots are now available to buy either in your local store or online with an RRP of £95.00 they really are a wonderful boot to have in my winter collection.

**This is not a sponsored post, I was provided with a pair of Orla Boots to test and review. All words and opinions are my own.
