Conkers about Conkers – 24/09/2016

I am linking up this weeks Point + Shoot with YouBabyMeMummy and My Sunday Photo with Photalife.

Autumn Conkers

This time of year is by far my most favourite time of year, I just LOVE Autumn. I love how we lose the heat of summer to the cooler days and the lighter evenings gradually becoming the darker evenings. I love the colours of Autumn, the changing of colours in trees, from green to reds to browns and most of all CONKERS!

I am literally conkers about conkers, I love going out to collect these beauties and watching them drop from trees in the gusts of wind. I love watching my children screech and run under the trees to collect their treasures and watching them fill their buckets (in this case a humongous boot box), they thoroughly enjoy collecting them and in some cases opening the conker shells to reveal how many conkers the shell is concealing.

I love collecting conkers too, but we’ve not seen many this year yet. We’ve never had a haul like that, although I could do with it given the number of massive spiders we have running around

Wow that’s a lot of conkers. They are supposed to keep spiders at bay but they don’t seem to work at my house! Lovely close up.

Hi Bex, collecting conkers in the woods at half term is one of my childhood memories. The colour and shine of a newly hatched conker is beautiful. It’s just a shame they don’t stay looking like that for long. Your daughter looks well chuffed with her humongous collection!
