Garden Flowers of Dunster – 30/07/2016

Its been a while since I last linked up to weeks Point + Shoot with YouBabyMeMummy and My Sunday Photo with Photalife but I am back and armed with so many photos I am eager to share with you over the coming weeks.

Recently I have had an ankle injury which put a halt to my photography but I am now over the injury and also just returned from a weeks holiday in Somerset. Cue thousands of photos snapped so you can understand just how difficult it have been to just choose 1 for this week, so you have 2!

This week I am going with a floral theme, from the first day of our holiday in Somerset when we visited Dunster Village. The sun was shining, the sky was blue and the conditions were perfect for snapping away. I was also quite eager to give my 35mm prime lens a good stretch as it really doesn’t get used as much as it should.

Can you see why I struggled to choose just one photo? I like the first one because I find the centre of the flower so mesmerising with its patterns, whilst also the contrast and saturation levels were spot on for in camera shooting, there was so little editing required for this photo. The second required a little bit more input just to reduce some of the shadowing but to also reshape the photo from horizontal to vertical to get the best result. I particularly love the background to this photo.

You tell me which photo you like best?

I think the photo with the church just edges it for me, but they are both beautiful photos. I love the vivid colour and the light.
Glad to hear you are over your ankle injury.
