Enjoying Thomas Land Weekends Event at Drayton Manor Theme Park
Recently my whole family and I descended upon Drayton Manor Theme Park with a bunch of other bloggers to have a chuffing good day at the Thomas Land Weekends Event. Following the amazing success of 2015 there have been a couple of changes to the schedule at Drayton Manor, this includes this weekend and next weekend where there are special openings for Thomas Land and the Zoo prior to the park opening again for the season on the 12th March 2016. 2 special weekends where little ones (avid Thomas lovers) can drag Mum and Dad around the park endlessly getting into the action and spending time with Thomas & his friends.
We arrived earlier than normal opening times to take advantage of an empty park prior to opening to the public at 10.30. We got exclusive use of various rides within the main complex of Thomas Land and also got to meet up with other blogging friends.
The kids made the most of the rides being open and got straight to work.
Having been ambassadors for Drayton Manor Theme Park in 2015, you probably all know just how much we went to the Theme Park. We have been on the rides countless times and taking in the sights, but today we were greeted by a sight we had never seen of which delighted Leah no end…
Today Rosie was out on the park, Leah was absolutely made up. We are use to seeing Thomas and Percy so to see this change really made her day and we just HAD to take a ride… only on Rosie!
After leaving the main complex of Thomas Land we took a walk towards the Zoo, en route we were having a good look about and taking note of all the works which have been happening to the park during the closure during January up to February Half Term, we couldn’t miss the big change by the lake and the removal of the bridge. We did like these changes, the new wall and paving. Perfect for when the crowds gather for fireworks over the lake.
These weren’t the only changes, there were other little changes pretty much everywhere and there was a BIG change in the zoo which unfortunately you will have to wait to find out more as I am very excited about this change and will save this for a future review.
In the zoo we really did have a good look about, taking in the sights of the Meerkats, Reptile House, Small Mammal House, Pond and Birds. I think with the winter break the animals were starting to feel the love again as they were all very active and seemed to love having the attention back.
At the other side of the park the kids made the most of the Dino Trail, Spencers Playground and the Discovery Thomas Exhibition before boarding Rosie back to the main park.
All in all we had yet another fantastic day, the kids were delighted to be back at their favourite Theme Park after a long 2 month break and has had their Thomas flames relit and ready for another great year ahead.
We also put together a video diary of our day, where you can find out more of what we got up to!
