Splash About Russian Doll Raincoat : Review

My daughter LOVES her outdoor adventures, I am very proud of my children as they love their outdoors jaunts just as much as me. So when Splash About contacted me asking if Leah would like to try one of their Raincoats I knew I couldn’t resist and it was perfect timing as Leah has just outgrown her current lightweight raincoat.

We popped over to the Splash About webpage and had a look what was to offer for her, the webpage is easy to navigate around and their images really do give you idea what your product will look like. After getting Leah involved in our decision making process, we soon had the perfect coat decided upon and she was very excited to receive her new Russian Doll Raincoat.

Our main draw to this product is the colour and design, Leah really does like dolls and all things pink at the moment so she was not disappointed at all. This coat has plenty of child friendly features, especially for young children who like to “do-up” their coats as it has a chunky zip which Leah is learning to master and popper fastenings for the pockets. Her arms are also protected from the rain with tapered cuffs and also her bottom with the splash guard at the back.

The outer lining of the coat is made from 100% Polyurethane (PU) and the inside has a lovely towelling body and hood whilst the sleeves have a Polyester lining. All these factors make for a perfect lightweight Raincoat, ideal for days out and when not in use it folds up small for packing in a rucksack.

A couple of ways this coat can be cleaned, either with a cloth or washable on a 30c cycle, and then line dried. Ideal for use another day and it washes really well.

Leah’s worn her new coat a few times now, her name has been written onto her name label by the hood so she can use it at nursery too. She is certainly very fond of her coat, is not restrictive at all and she has received quite a few compliments as she loves showing it to everyone! We ordered Leah’s coat in a size 5-6 years as her current coat which has become a tight on her now is size 4-5 so its fair to say that this coat is very friendly in sizing and I am happy this coat will last her the year, possibly 2! Also as you can see from the rear of the coat the splash guard looks perfect for keeping Leah’s bottom dry on the soggy swings/benches at the park.

Its not a coat ideal for keeping warm during the coldest months of winter but we look forward to many more adventures wearing it when the weather warms back up again.

The Russian Doll Raincoat has an RRP of Ā£35 but is currently subject to a 20% discount and is available at Ā£28. Splash About offer a range of raincoats, capes and splash-suits from 6 months to 6 years. It’d be good to see the splash suits available also up the age of 6 years especially for children’s Forest School adventures.

** This is not a sponsored post we were provided with a Russian Doll Raincoat from Splash About to test and review. All words and opinions are my own.

She’s certainly looking very snug šŸ™‚ I like that the back is extra long, as it will protect the bottom if she wants to sit down on something damp.

Much as I hate pink, I do love that Russian Doll print! I also love the way the hem dips at the back šŸ™‚
Thanks for sharing your review on #TriedTested this week x

I absolutely adore this! It’s right up my street. Your daughter looks so cute in it. Great point about the soggy-bottom avoider!

Oh this is really cute, Elsie and Evie would love this! I will definitively be taking a look at their website. I love that it comes down below the bum, Evie is always wanting to sit on benches and always ends up moaning about wet bum! Thanks so much for sharing on #ToddlerApprovedTuesday
