Orchard Toys Christmas Surprises : Review

Rating: [rating]

With Christmas just around the corner Leah and I are getting into the festive spirit playing Christmas Themed board games. From Orchard Toys we were sent Christmas Surprises, we have to help Father Christmas decorate the Christmas Tree and load his sack with gifts by throwing the dice to match colours and shapes.

Christmas Surprises

This game consists of;

  • 4 Double Sided Gameboards
  • 24 Shaped Presents
  • 24 Coloured Baubles
  • 1 Shape Dice
  • 1 Colour Dice
  • Instructions

This game is designed for children aged 3years & over and 2-4 players.

First up we got to work with the Christmas Tree Colour Game. The object of this game is to roll the coloured dice and match the colours to what we need on our Christmas Tree. The first person to match all the colours is the winner.

Next up we played the Santa Sack Shapes Game, with a similar objective to the colours game. We roll the shapes dice, match the shapes to what we need from Santa’s Sack, each shape holds a different surprise gift. The first person to fill Santa’s sack is the winner.

During either game you may come across instances where you match a colour or shape to what you already have, if this happens you miss your go and its then the next players go.

This game like all the others from Orchard Toys promote various educational skills for your child, the main one for this game being observational skills. Other skills include matching, manual dexterity, social and development skills. An excellent game with links to Early Years Learning Goals.

What I love about Orchard Toys Games is that all games, jigsaws and packaging are made from 100% recycled materials. They are all educational games, of a pocket money value, are all brightly coloured and are very appealing to young children.

This game is recommended for children aged 3+ and is available to purchase in most high street stores or direct from Orchard Toys with an RRP of £9.50.

**This is not a sponsored post, we were sent Christmas Surprised from Orchard Toys to test and review. All words and opinions are my own.
