Photo Of The Week

My Sunday Photo – 15/11/2015

I am linking up this week to My Sunday Photo with OneDad3Girls with this photo;

Ironbridge Power Station

ISO100 , F11, 10sec exposure

Next week will bring a change to the area of Ironbridge as their Power Station will close down, the iconic “giants of the sky” are currently working their last remaining hours. To mark this occasion the cooling towers of the Power Station are being lit up on certain evenings. I was lucky enough to get out briefly on Thursday evening to capture some photos and put together a blog post documenting my photographs of the Power Station over the past few years.

This photo isn’t the best photo I’ve ever taken, as you know the weather has been pretty miserable, wet and VERY windy, especially on the hill side where I took this photo. Please excuse the slight wind/motion blur.

    Great photo – it’s kind of strange to think that they are closing down #mysundayphoto

    I think this is a great shot, I like the slight blur it really adds to the movement in the smoke from the chimneys

    Well done for catching the last days of a local landmark. Being from Manchester I can see such beauty in industrial structures. Great shot!

    What a beautiful shot, power stations always have an almost majestic feel to the towers. It’s going to be a dramatic change to no longer have those giants working.

    Great shot. It immediately reminded me of my family home in Teeside. I think they are beautiful structures and what a great description ‘giants of the sky’. #mysundayphoto
