LeapFrog Number Loving Oven : Review
Recently we have been putting a new LeapFrog product through it’s paces, this time the Number Loving Oven.
Recommended for children aged 2+ I think promotes kitchen awareness from hot oven to having to wait for foods to cook. Other skills it promotes is number awareness, parts of a whole (fractions) and sharing.
This set contains 16 pieces;
- 4 Pizza Slices
- 3 Slices of Bread
- 2 Cupcakes
- 1 Fried Egg
- 1 Frying Pan
- 1 Spatula
- 1 Baking Tray
- 2 Plates
Upon switching the oven on you are immediately welcomed to begin cooking away, with two volume levels your child can start baking cake, bread and pizza or frying an egg. Opening the oven door your child can put their chosen food item on the tray on the shelf, upon closing the door the Oven will suggest a number temperature to cook at. Once your child has moved the slider to the right number the oven will cook.
Alternatively your child can opt to fry an egg, there are 2 hobs to this cooker, the right one doesn’t respond to use whilst the left one will make various frying sounds.
After cook has been completed your child can then serve up their meal using the plates provided and you can really tuck into their concoctions of pizza and egg or cake and bread.
Once playing has been complete for one day you can then put everything back away inside the oven for play another day. The idea of putting away the items within the oven I think is brilliant, this causes no lost pieces and a tidy playing area. Perfect for just grabbing and playing again another day.
As mentioned earlier the Number Loving Oven has an age recommendation of 2+, perfect for any young child with an imagination for cooking and has a RRP of £22.99, available to buy at most high street toy stores or online.
Whilst playing with this great new toy I recorded a video review of it in action where you can see all parts more up close and see what this toy has to offer, enjoy!
