Interplay Wood Worx Robot Ranger Kit : Review & Giveaway
Wooden The next review in our line up from Interplay is the Robot Ranger Kit from the Wood Worx collection. This is set to become a great addition to Lewis’s Transformers obsession.
Contents of the kit include absolutely everything we needed to build our Robot;
- 29 Wooden Pieces
- 5 Coloured Paint Pots
- Tube Of Glue
- Double Ended Paint Brush
- Sticker Sheet
This kit is designed for children aged 5-7 with supervision or 8+ to go it alone, I thought would be perfect for Lewis to build his first ever kit following instructions. He couldn’t wait to get to work building!
Lewis initially wanted to get completely stuck in, not one for following instructions (typical man!) he tried just making it up which nearly resulted in catastrophe. But with some coaching from me and working out which piece was which we soon had the robot built, so be it with a wonky foot and a slightly odd looking shoulder joint.
The instructions were fairly simply to follow when you had the right piece to hand, perhaps if the wooden pieces were labelled with letters there wouldn’t be much of a mix up and I’m sure this method would be much simpler for younger children to follow. Also following the instructions were were instructed not to glue to arms onto the torso, allowing for free movement.
The tube of glue has a thin point to the tip, allowing for precise gluing and no glue explosions. Its also quick drying, meaning our robot was set within and hour or so and most likely dry enough to move onto painting. We decided to leave it overnight and come back to it the next evening.
The next two evenings consisted of painting and sticking stickers. Lewis was adamant to follow the illustrations from the box to make sure his robot was a match which I think he pretty much nailed it. He was so pleased with his end result the Robot was taken into school the next day to show his class friends who all loved seeing his creation.
Now for the fun part, the lovely people at Interplay UK are allowing me to run a giveaway where one lucky reader can win a Wood Worx Product of your choice.
