Beefeater Grill Review

Last weekend we were very fortunate to be invited to our local Beefeater Grill Restaurant to test out their current menu and also try out the new Mr Men Little Miss menu for the kids. I have very fond memories of eating at Beefeater Restaurants in my early teens as this was our weekly Saturday night treat for a good few years.

BeefeaterIn my teens my local Beefeater Grill was in the North West of England, now I live in Shropshire happily accepted our invite to try out the menu at Euston Way in Telford. The location of this restaurant is right by the railway station making this an ideal location for people awaiting trains or just alighting from train journeys the restaurant is also by a hotel and a rather busy business park which is ideal for guests or non locals. As this restaurant is located right by a train station their is a pay & display car park which has to be adhered to, but ticket refunds can be claimed by on your restaurant bill.

Upon arrival we were greeted by Bright and immediately shown to our table. We couldn’t help but notice how clean and neat the restaurant was even when it was rather busy, this immediately made us feel comfortable and welcome. My only slight concern was the steak knives which were at the table, I fully understand this is a Grill/Steak house but I worried about the knives near my children so quickly removed them.

Beefeater 1We were then given our menu’s, and the kids got down to the difficult decision of what they wanted to eat. I must admit the Mr Men Little Miss menus are brilliant, so bright, colourful and plenty to choose from. The kids were also given Mr Men Little Miss magazines to read and colour in, this kept Leah busy for a good while.

Beefeater 2The adults menu also provided a good amount to choose from (but I forgot to take a photo), ranging from steaks and burgers to traditional pub grub. ClearlyDaddy and I were immediately taken with the steak menu.

The Meal

When we eat out we are only a 2 course family, we always skip our starters in favour of a sweet filling after our meal. We find eating 3 courses to be just too filling for us and can ruin a meal.

For our 1st course (main meal) we ordered;

ClearlyDaddy: 8oz Sirloin Steak (medium/well cooked), Triple Cooked Chips and Triple Peppercorn Sauce. To drink ClearlyDaddy had a SanMiguel Beer.

Myself: 10oz Rump (medium/well cooked), Triple Cooked Chips, Mushroom Sauce and Crispy Beer Battered Onion Rings. To drink I had a Diet Pepsi.

Lewis: Bacon & Pineapple Pizza, Mini Corn Cob and Baked Beans. To drink Lewis had a Diet Pepsi.

Leah: 3oz Steak Burger, Fun Veggie Sticks and Pleasing Peas. To drink Leah had a Blackcurrant Fruit Shoot.

ClearlyDaddy and I shared the following

  • A Cookie Dough Sundae served in a tall glass this is a vanilla ice cream with chocolate cookie dough pieces, lashings of chocolate sauce and topped with whipped cream, more cookie dough pieces and chocolate sauce.
  • Chocolate Melt In The Middle Pudding, this a mini cake with a chocolate sauce centre topped with vanilla ice cream and a wafer.

Lewis had the Mini Chocolate Challenge which was great fun as it was a kind of “create your own pudding”, in one bowl was marshmellows and chocolate cookie dough pieces, another was vanilla ice cream and last bowl was chocolate sauce. Simply mix it all up which was great fun for Lewis.

Whilst Leah the Ice Cream Sundae which was vanilla ice cream, topped with either strawberry or chocolate sauce and a wafer. Both the kids puddings were from the Mr Men Little Miss menu and all puddings were delicious.

All in all we really enjoyed our meals and the service from staff was excellent, we shall be returning again soon!
