Absence… and loss

A month ago I was struggling to blog, a month later my blogging has pretty much ground to a halt. Why?

I am grieving.

I am grieving the loss of an amazing man in my life, in my husbands life and my children’s life.

This man is my Step Father In Law, Mick.

MickI am really struggling for words, the loss of Mick has really knocked me about and we are now left with a gaping hole in our lives. Mick was an extraordinary man and was loved by all he met. A keen countryman with a passion for photography and besotted with his dogs Jip and Lady, I have a lot to be thankful for as I have gained my love for photography through him and we also have our own dog. He leaves behind my Mother In Law, Lynne and we are now living closely together helping her through this time and I am very grateful to be close to Lynne and love her like a mother.

My children will dearly miss their Grandad as they loved visiting him and playing games.

Mick was a fighter, early February he was diagnosed with Amyloidosis which is a rare and serious condition which causes a build up of proteins within the body. Unfortunately Mick was diagnosed very late on with this condition, chose to take his battle with both hands and fight it, with our support he began chemotherapy at the beginning of March. From then the condition which was affecting a number of organs and with the stress of chemo it all became too much and on Sunday 26th April Mick passed away with Lynne and my husband by his side.

RIP Mick xxx

Oh I’m so so sorry to read this. I’ve shed a little tear. No words can possibly make any of these better or even a little easier. Accept the process of grief and remember we are all here if you need to talk/blog/tweet.
much love to you all xxx
