Vileda Steam Mop : Review
One brand of home cleaning I have always been passionate about is Vileda, they quite literally make everything practical that you would need for making your home sparkly and clean. Products include cleaning cloths, ironing boards, scourers, brushes, window cleaning, mops and so much more. There really is no reason to look anywhere else!
Vileda are now moving with the times and have produced a range of electrical cleaning products of which we have been provided with Vileda Steam Mop to test and review.
- Steam mop with attachable swivel head and handle.
- 2x Microfibre pads
- 1x Carpet Glider attachment
- 1x Refillable jug
Upon first impressions I am very pleased, the mop is easily built as well as dismantled. Controls seem easy and the base accepts its microfibre pad by means of velcro pads, it all seems very sleek and easy to use.
The mop features a range of features for its purpose, its free standing and the water tank accepts 400ml of water which provides up to 28mins of steam. Also using the carpet attachment it can easily glide over carpets to provide a carpet refresh, please do note the steam mop will not clean carpets like it does hard floors.
Starting up the mop couldn’t have been simpler either, simply fill the water tank, replace the cap, plug the mop in and switch it on. After a short 15second wait the mop will start purging the steam though and away you go.
Being able to set the steam at my chosen setting is also ideal, ranging from a low steam output to high by easily adjusting the min-max dial, this is great for more delicate of floors.
I am pleasantly amazed just how tall the mop was, although initially I was slightly dubious of this until I got using it. I was able to reach quite far in front of me with little movement from me, this means I can cover wide area in minutes. The swivel base of the mop made for easier cleaning, allowing the mop to twist easily into corners.
Overall use of the mop is brilliant, the cable is adequately long enough, the floors were not saturated, everything really works well together and storage is brilliant. Simply wrap the cable back up and stand in a corner, as the mop is free-standing there’s no falling over, knocking over or tripping over.
