The Adventures Of Abney & Teal Magazine : Review
As my children are growing up, they have never been really been into children’s magazines. I am usually the mother that would steer my kids away from them as I feared they are over priced and all the kids are interested in are the toys which are really badly made and don’t last 5 minutes. Lewis aged 5 is really into his trains so for the past year or two he’s regularly been buying Thomas The Tank Engine magazines or Model Railway books… mainly the latter. Where as Leah who is alot younger has never had a magazine before, that was until earlier this week…
From the hit CBeebies TV show, comes a new monthly magazine for young children. The Adventures Of Abney & Teal, priced at £2.99. I was offered a copy to take a look at and review;
Now going off magazines I have bought in the past I was sceptical on removing the music set from the front cover of the magazine and inevitably tearing the book but it was easy to remove and there was no tear, immensely relieved.
Inside the magazine the pages are softly coloured paper pages, not a specialist magazine paper which would usually be the case. This paper is ideal for kids as each page features different educational tasks for your child to undertake – to help your child learn the Abney & Teal way. There’s puzzles, colouring in, creativity, discovery and so much more, coupled with a fab selection of stickers inside this magazine will certainly keep your child entertained for hours!
Included with this great magazine is a little music set, a “Plinky-Plonky” (guitar) and a recorder. I must admit these two little toys are actually well made and as yet we have not suffered a broken string and the kids are thoroughly enjoying their new magazine and gift.
As mentioned earlier Abney and Teal is a new monthly magazine, priced at £2.99 and I think it’s safe to say I shall be making more purchases for my Daughter over time.
What age did you start buying magazines for your children and what are your thoughts on the prices and gifts provided in them?
