ELC Press Day
Earlier this month the kids and I took a very exciting day trip out to London to visit our 1 and only “Xmas in July” event, for Mothercare and Early Learning Centre (also currently celebrating its 40th year!). A long but really exciting day trip out, as getting to London from Shropshire is rather a long journey we started out at 8am by getting the train to London (arriving at 11.30) and returning home at 7.30pm.
Upon arrival at the event in London, I was introduced to Abi who I have been working with for some time now and have built a good working relationship with. It was lovely to put a face to a name. I was really looking forward to attending this event, to see the new toys & clothing both in the ELC range but also the Mothercare, Little Bird and Baby K range. I will tell you about the mothercare/clothing ranges in a separate blog post.
The kids were delighted to be greeted by a huge range of toys to play with any test out whilst I had a good mooch and also gain some knowledge of the products to come.
First we were introduced to a new range of toys, coming to a local store near you – Pink Poppets.
These adorable dolls will be released in the Autumnof which there are two plush dolls in the range, priced at £20 per doll. These dolls are absolutely gorgeous, full plush, no removable parts to their body but do come with an age rating of 3years+ due to the hair and hair bows, each doll comes with their own dress and also a name certificate to name your own doll. Both girls can be dressed in different outfits of which there is 4 to choose from, either a Birthday Dress, Pyjama Outfit, a Tutu Dress and an All In One all priced at £10 each. There are also 2 accessory sets, a sleep set which just includes a sleeping bag and there is a Tea Party Set which includes a picnic blanket, a full set of porcelain tea accessories and a beautiful case to pack everything away once your tea party is complete.
Whilst I was happily drooling away over at the Pink Poppets corner my kids had practically sampled every single other toy which was on show, Leah was happily making her way through the collection over at the Rosebud Village. Sometime ago Leah acquired an original Rosebud house which has quite frankly seen better day’s and to see the new range of Rosebud sets was lovely.
There will be a new house relaunched again in the Autumn, which has had a lovely addition added to the exterior of the property – bay windows and a whole new design. Internally in the loft there is a pressure closure on the roof which has just been added, this prevents the roof from closing too fast and squishing children’s tiny fingers. The house still compromises of 3 floors and fixed in place stairs. My only concern is that this house is very… pink! It feels rather gender linked which has followed through the whole range of Rosebud and even though we have our own house from a previous version my Son still loved playing with this house until recently as he now frequently says “its for girls!”.
Next up was the Rosebud Farm, a brand new addition to the Rosebud Range. Not available until Autumn, this set included quite a few accessories and animals.
And lastly was the beautiful Rosebud Tree House, this set really did capture Leah’s imagination as she loves swings and see-saw’s at the moment. Ready for the new season this set has had a few minor changes to it and will have a retail price is £40.
All in all I am an avid lover of all the toys in the ELC range and so are my kids. Here is a quick sneak peak of other items on display for us to admire.
Lastly a couple of items which I want to tell you about which we were able to take home with us in our goody bag. First up from the HappyLand range is the Royal Birthday Set celebrating Prince George’s 1st Birthday next week, I do love these sets, we have the Royal Baby set too and will hopefully collect them for more years to come. Priced at £8 and with an age rating of 18month+, this set comes complete with Duke, Duchess, Prince on a rocking horse and a birthday cake.
We also received a Wooden Birthday Cake to celebrate the 40th anniversary of ELC, this cake has been a complete hit with Leah. She regularly walks around the house with her cake on its plate singing Happy Birthday and blowing out the pretend candles! Leah then cuts the cake up and tries forcing pieces into my mouth to eat and it now has price of place over her wooden kitchen also from the ELC range.
Coming soon, our finds and thoughts of the Mothercare Xmas and Clothing ranges.
**This is not a sponsored post, this is following our trip to London to visit the ELC/Mothercare Press Day.
