Hotter Shoes, Shrewsbury : Review

Back at the beginning of May I attended my second Blog On MOSI conference in Manchester, where bloggers get together to share hints, tips and knowledge in the world of blogging. Whilst I was at the conference there were various brands to chat to, who are looking to work with bloggers in the near future. One company I really got on well with was Hotter Shoes, their range of shoes they had on display were lovely. I was even caught on camera admiring the shoes!

Hotter 1After returning home from the conference I set up contact with Hotter Shoes and was quickly invited to visit my local Hotter Store for a 1-to-1 chat with the store manager Gaynor Williams.

So last Tuesday I headed on an outing with my kids over to Shrewsbury. Hotter have been in Shrewsbury just over 18 months now, I hadn’t been to Shrewsbury in this time and I was amazed to see the store, bright, vibrant and so welcoming.

History

Hotter is a family run business, started in 1959 producing comfortable slippers. Then in the early 1990’s the current founder Stewart Houlgrave expended the business rapidly to produce not only comfortable slippers but also stylish & comfortable shoes. Today they have a factory in Skelmersdale which produce over 80% of the shoes available for sale today, using the finest leather, Polyurethane soles, leather/breathable insoles and also hidden seams for extra comfort.

The Shoes

Firstly I was shown a pair of Shake’s, these shoes really did catch my eye, I do like shoes that I can’t just slip my feet into and come with an added buckle for security. Also the soles are removable, immensely soft and the shoes overall are ultra lightweight. These are available in 6 different colours, sizes 3-8 and are available in various width fittings, standard, extra wide and EEE. The soles of the shoes are made of Polyurethane, which is ultra lightweight, slightly spongy, flexible and help absorb shocks. Also complete with a Touch Fastening buckle.

Hotter 3Next I was shown heeled shoes, something I don’t tend to wear very often mainly due to my height (5ft7″), heeled shoes tend to aggravate an ankle injury and give me sore feet too. I was introduced to these gorgeous Valetta Shoes, which promote a 1 & ¾ heel and also a Pyramid Technology in the base of the foot, to help support and provide extra comfort when walking in shoes over a number of hours. Complete with a buckle fastening and ultra soft/lightweight leather these really do look as if they would be worn for hours whilst feeling like a pair of slippers.

Hotter 4Lastly I was shown a great fashionable shoe, ready for the coming summer months. Wedges are where Hotter’s comfort brand meets today’s hottest shoe fashion.

Hotter 5One thing I really adore about these shoes are the overall designs, inside and out. The fabric detailing inside the shoe also give that more fashionable feel and equipped with cushioned soles they are stylish, beautiful and comfortable to wear for any occasion.

Mens

Whilst in the store I took some time to have a really good look around, part of looking around I headed over to the men’s department to see what they have in store. Again having had a good look at the menswear shoes they feel really comfortable, fashionable and practical.

Hotter 7As part of being able to visit the store today, I was also able to try on various pairs of shoes in stock and take a pair home with me. I really wanted to choose a pair of shoes which were comfortable, practical so I would be able to walk miles in on my sons school run and I wouldn’t end up with sore legs wearing. Also given my favourite colour at the moment I went ahead and tried on a couple of pairs.

Hotter 6In the end I chose the Snake Shoes in Dusky Pink, priced at £69.00. For various reasons I chose these, mainly due to comfort, style, the touch fasten and they are most practical for what I need. I’ll be wearing these a lot for time to come.

I have actually worn these shoes daily since taking them home with me, walked many miles in them and had absolutely no problems in them. They are quite easily the comfiest shoes I have ever worn!  As part of the shoe package I was also give some renovating cream, I have used this once when I scuffed the toe of the shoe and this cream works a dream!

I’d like to say a massive Thank You to Gaynor Williams, Store Manager of Shrewsbury for all your help and to her whole team making me feel so welcome!

**This is not a sponsored post, I was invited to Hotter Shrewsbury for a store visit and review a pair of shoes. All words and opinions are my own.
