What Would Be In Your Shelfie
This months bloggers have been challenged to take a photo of their favourite shelf in their house and tell the world about it… “shelfie” (get it?!).
So joining in with this challenge set by Tots100 & Victoria Plumb, here is my favourite shelf;
Ok, I know it doesn’t look overly exciting, what shelf which includes having your 2yr old’s nappies stored on it is exciting?! But the fact is, apart from having shelves on my children’s book cases, this is MY shelf… where I store thing’s special to me and don’t want damaging.
I’ll talk you through each part of the shelf;
Firstly is my most precious part of the shelf, mainly containing memories of my daughter Megan who died during pregnancy 3 years ago. The Jellycat bear was to be her first bear, the candle is the candle which was lit in my house on my return home from hospital and the Willow Tree Guardian Angel Figurine is a ornament I bought in her memory. Most recently I won the last ornament on the far right of the photo from Cazamic which I love.
The middle of the shelf stores our electrical gadgets, the 3D glasses for our TV, 2 playstation remotes and the TV remotes. These need to be stored out of the way due to the dogs most recent chewing obsession. I also have a slight obsession with Winnie The Pooh, dotted around the house are various Classical Winnie The Pooh ornaments which I collect, this one is of Winnie The Pooh on a windy day in a glass ball with glitter.
Finally is the part of the shelf I am slightly ashamed of, the nappies which are stored by a photo of my son when he was born. I store the nappies here again out of the way of the dog who would probably just shred them to smithereens given the opportunity!
There is a fab short quiz available for my readers to take part in, to discover who your celebrity style follows. Are you a regal Lady Mary from Downton Abbey, appreciating the finer things in life and a lover of classic interior styles? Or maybe you’re more of a Joey Essex from TOWIE – always photo-ready and happy to make your friends “well jel” by showing off your “reem” home?
I scored the glamour, following in the footsteps of Sam Friars from TOWIE. This is actually right on many levels, as I always try to look presentable preferring to have an immaculate home and having home comforts close-by.
