Braun PRT1000 High Speed Thermometer : Review
With having 2 young children I am always concious that they will pick up germs left, right and centre. Fortunately I am extremely blessed that my children hardly ever pick-up germs. Last time Leah had a temperature was 10months ago when she had chicken pox and 4 months ago for Lewis when he had flu!
When I was young my mum always had a thermometer strip to hand which was used for me and my brother. So when I was pregnant with Lewis I bought another working on the basis “it worked for mum, it will work for me”.
How wrong was I?! Whenever I tried to use it Lewis would wriggle and scream like mad so I soon gave up and worked by instinct. For Leah I never attempted to use it as she screams at the sight of something that has to go near her face.
Recently we have been trying out a Braun Thermometer, priced at £9.99 it is simple, lightweight and works very well even with wriggly children.
The Braun 3-in-1 Thermometer (PRT1000) features inc;
- Provide accurate temperature readings and can be used under arm, oral and rectal.
- Quick temperature readings, in under 10 seconds with absolute minimum discomfort.
- Can recall the last temperature taken.
- Small and flexible tip for maximum comfort.
- Beep confirms when temperature has been taken.
- A cover to keep your thermometer safe, protected and hygienic between uses.
As the tip of the thermometer is flexible, it won’t harm your child if he/she is a bit wriggly whilst trying to gain a temperature which I find ideal.
Lewis was at hand to provide his temperature readings for the basis of our review, using only the oral and armpit use.
Between uses it is highly adviseable to keep your thermometer hygienically clean. For this I will be using anti-bacterial wipes and replacing the cover.
All in all this is a pretty nifty little product to keep to hand, it is actually living now in our change bag should a child be taken ill on outings or be rather upset, just to be safe.
