Thomas Land, Drayton Manor – Review
Recently my family and I were fortunate enough to visit Thomas Land based at Drayton Manor Theme Park, Tamworth for a fun filled day of Thomas The Tank Engine related fun!
Both my Children are fans of Thomas The Tank Engine, Lewis is a mega fan and Leah is rapidly following in his footsteps. So when we were invited to attend the new preview of Thomas The Tank Engine – King Of The Railway screening launch and spend the day at Drayton Manor we were ecstatic.
ClearlyDaddy and I last went to Drayton Manor 7 years ago, before Thomas Land so it was fab to be able to return and spend the day enjoying the park with the kids.
I don’t think Lewis really understood where we were going that day, so to arrive and have him being faced with all this fab Thomas themed stuff he really was a boy in Thomas Heaven for the day!
As you enter, you we were immediately faced with a huge Thomas train. If Lewis’s jaw could have hit the floor it certainly would have done!
At the centre of Thomas Land there are Shed’s with engines in to pose by and have photo’s taken, Lewis loved having his photo taken with Toby, Gordon and Rosie. Leah wasn’t too keen as the engines are quite big for her and they also make noises.
There were quite a few rides through the day that we were unable to get Lewis to ride on, he’s not the best at rides and neither are his parents but all in all he had a fab time watching everything and taking in the sights!
We could get Lewis to ride on the Jeremy’s flying academy (bottom right) which Lewis thoroughly enjoyed!
Also Lewis enjoyed the merry go round and driving the cars, and Terence the Tractor at the driving school.
We had a good look around the Thomas Land Shop and even bought some Sodor Sweets, Lewis wouldn’t share his though!
A highlight to Lewis’s day was riding in Annie and Clarabel with Thomas the Tank Engine from Knapford Station to Farmer McColls farm.
After finishing in Thomas Land we enjoyed a look around the Zoo at Drayton Manor, the kids particularly enjoyed the small animals and reptiles area.
Then we hit the main part of Drayton Manor, watched all the adult rides and then ClearlyDaddy and Lewis had a ride on the Splash Canyon which they really enjoyed and got rather wet.
There were a few things about Drayton Manor which makes this a theme park better than all others we have visited before. Everywhere is neat and tidy, cleaners are everywhere. The public toilets are cleaned very regular and even the baby changing facilities are practically gleaming.
All in all we had a truly wonderful day, a wonderful theme park and will certainly be returning for the Magical Christmas event.
