Ocean Beach Pleasure Park – Review

A couple of weeks ago, I heard of a blogging opportunity for Ocean Beach Pleasure Park in South Sheilds, Tyne and Wear. As most of you will know, we do not live anywhere near South Sheilds but we were due to holiday in the area so I put forward my offer to visit and review the Park.

Myself or my husband are definitely not “Thrill Seekers” what so ever, I’ve never really been to any big amusement parks before, only Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Drayton Manor. The most “Thrilling” ride I’ve been on was the spinning tea cups which were horrendous!! Having done my homework on Ocean Beach I certainly saw this fit enough to take the kids and have a day of fun. Also Lewis loves Amusement Parks, which we do worry where he gets his fascination from!!

I made contact with Emma Arkley at Ocean Beach and we arranged our visit whilst we were on holiday.

On the day we very easily located the Park, using Sat Nav and parked up paying only £3 for a full days parking and entered the Park. We met Emma at the Quasar where we had a chat and I introduced my family. We were handed our complimentary tickets and introduced to the gentleman who ran the snack hut. After our chat we went on our way, and spent lots of time having fun with the kids.

One thing that I really liked regarding Ocean Beach is their free admission, this really appeals to people like myself who don’t go out of their way for amusement rides but want to take children to have a fun time. Unfortunately there are now very few amusement parks that offer this, for example, Blackpool Pleasure Beach no longer offer free admission, you now pay for entry. For this reason I would probably never go again!

Ocean Beach offer either wristbands or tickets/tokens.

We started by having a wander around, finding out what Ocean Beach had to offer and we were really happy, there certainly is enough here to keep a family entertained for a good half a day! I’d say there are 3 sections to the Park, a Children’s Area, a Family Area and a Adults/Thrill Seekers area.

Here are some pictures from our day, I won’t share them all, I don’t to spoil the surprise!!!

During our day we stopped for some lunch at one of the snack huts, we ordered a child’s meal deal, which consisted of either a burger or hot-dog with chips and a drink, Lewis wanted a hot-dog. We also ordered an adults meal deal which was the same as the kids meal deal just more of an adults portion with a bigger drink, of which we ordered a burger. I sampled both meals and enjoyed them, also I really enjoyed the chips too.

Overall we had a really good day, Lewis thoroughly enjoyed the Pony Express, Dodgems and inflatable slide, of which we visited all 3 attractions more than once! He was absolutely gutted to leave at the end of the day.

I’d like to share this short video also with you of Lewis riding on the Pony Express which he loved!

** This is not a sponsored post, we were offered a free visit to review. All words and opinions are my own.
